In 2015, students from the Communication, Culture and Technology (CCT) Program at Georgetown University initiated the CCTech Tour, through which they connected fellow graduate students with tech practitioners in Silicon Valley. When I began the CCT Program in 2015, I took over this responsibility by organizing a three-day tour in New York City, during which we visited seven tech companies, including The Wall Street Journal, Guggenheim Museum and MediaVest. My responsibilities included managing a $4500 stipend for 15 students, booking travel and hotel reservations, and liaising with the companies’ points of contact. Since this time, I have I have managed tours to the World Bank, Time Life, Buffer, and Algolia, which is headquartered in California.
When I was in college, I started as a volunteer in 2008 and rose in ranks from camera operator to the top position in my last semester. Duties ranged from general assignment reporting finding artistic talents for the Arts segment of the show, running the News department (writing scripts as well as assigning and reporting news packages) and eventually as the Producer of the weekly show in my last semester overseeing all segments and approval for airing.
Here are two of my news pieces I produced, wrote, and edited for the show:
