Oxford, England and University

oxford tourWhat a beautiful and historic place! I loved visiting Oxford, taking a train ride for a day from London or Bath.

There was a crepe stand that in just one day, I had twice. Taking a tour of Oxford University is a must. It was established since 912 and since its conception, the university was open to all, 50% of all students are from state schooling.

Some famous people who attended Oxford are Jack Russell whose dog, a terrier was orphaned after he died so people started calling his breed, the Jack Russell terrier.

J.R.R. Tolkein, author of Lord of The Rings Trilogy and The Hobbit as well as Lewis Carroll who wrote Alice in Wonderland. In fact, the tree in which Alice fell asleep at is still standing at the university.

Shoghi Effendi, the Guardian of the Baha’i Faith also attended and studied English which helped him be able to translate some of the most important Baha’i Writings.
